The term “disability” is extremely difficult to define because no single concept of disability is appropriate for all concerns and policy issues. The dictionary defines a disability as: "The condition of being unable to perform as a consequence of mental or physical unfitness." No wonder that the general population’s understanding of what it means to live with a disability is, for the most part, distorted disproportionately toward the negative. |

We here at Enhanced Care Solutions choose to define those we help that are living with a disability as “those individuals that need extra assistance to accomplish extraordinary things.” We believe that this simple adjustment in the way we view individuals with disabilities – from a focus on support systems based on what they can’t do, to a focus on supporting and extending what they can do - can work wonders for both the individuals, their families, and the organizations that seek to assist them. |

As such, the following resources as well as the services we provide all have one thing in common – they are fundamentally about preserving the dignity of the individual, supporting the desire to live independently, and serving as an implied or outright advocate for enhancing his/her abilities rather than assisting his/her disabilities. |
